I’ve always been drawn to creativity. Whether through dancing - where movement becomes expression, modeling - where the body becomes the canvas, or teaching - where designing and conducting creative lessons inspire and motivate students about life.
Even as a child I was captivated by design. At 10, I would save up just to buy new bedroom decor from Pier 1, and when I played The Sims I spent all my time designing houses before quitting the game. I even transformed our playroom and garage into a dream classroom, saving money to shop in the teacher section at Office Depot. Creating beautiful, visually inspiring spaces has always brought me joy.
But for a while, I felt stuck. As I approached my thirties, I found myself at a crossroads…unsure of where I was headed and questioning the choices that had led me there. I started reflecting on everything: the people I surrounded myself with, how I spent my time, and most importantly what truly made me happy.
That journey of self-discovery was transformative. Asking Why? helped me understand myself better, embrace challenges, and ultimately move forward.
I met someone who truly saw me and encouraged me to be honest with myself. That support gave me the confidence to take the next step. I didn’t have everything figured out, but I knew one thing for sure, I loved being creative and design.
That’s how Colanthia was born. What started as just refurbishing furniture, has now transformed into a way of life. For me, it is an extension of myself. It’s the creative, spontaneous, colorful, and emotional parts of me.
So maybe we share a common interest, or maybe something in my story resonates with you. Either way, my hope is that Colanthia inspires you to build a life rooted in purpose. Not just through the things that fill your home, but through the meaning behind them, and how they reflect you and your journey.
True growth begins at home, and most importantly it begins with you.
Live thoughtfully.
